Dolman Building Surveyors

Dolman Surveyors is a multi-disciplinary practice that offers an extensive range of professional Building Survey and Architectural Design services across a wide spectrum of project types. The practice, established in 1973 and based in Devizes, is family founded and run, priding itself on delivering a reliable, friendly service to clients of all types, ranging from private to corporate.

Our client base and nature of work has developed and grown organically over the years. Our project input is typically from inception through to completion of the works and handover to Client. However, a flexible service is offered and we are able to tailor our input at each stage to suit particular client or project requirements, timescale or budget. While projects have been undertaken around London and the Home Counties, our normal field of operation is Wiltshire and Dorset. There are exceptions, of course, and we will consider projects further afield.

Our team is made up of experienced professionals with a wide range of skills and expertise in both Building Surveying and Architectural Design. Our Architectural Design services cover all aspects of design, from initial concept through to detailed design and final completion. We work closely with our clients to understand their needs and preferences, and to create designs that meet their requirements while also being functional, sustainable, and aesthetically pleasing.

Our Building Surveying services include pre-purchase surveys, full structural surveys, and defect analysis. We can also provide expert advice on party wall matters, dilapidations, and other survey-related issues. Our team has extensive experience in this area, and we are well equipped to handle projects of all sizes and complexity.

In addition to these core services, we also offer Contract Administration and Specification & Tendering services. This includes preparing and administering building contracts, as well as specifying and tendering for construction works. We can help ensure that your project is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

• Nicholas Dolman - Partner

BSC, MRICS, Diploma Surveying

Design and the process of building have been part of my life since my teenage years. Work and pleasure have come together, it's more of a vocational pastime. Reading university provided the most enjoyable and relevant period of study post degree, with continuing learning for staff and myself seen as essential, to learn new ideas and to refresh old skills. People and how they function in and around buildings are of a continuing interest and enjoyment to me.

Darren joined Dolman as a Graduate Building Surveyor in 1996 and became a Partner in 2012. He has a broad knowledge in Building Surveying, Building Design and Health & Safety matters. Darren enjoys working closely with a variety of different Clients and solving their building related problems.

I graduated from Plymouth University in 2010 yet I have been involved in the construction industry from my early years with site work during holidays and was employed by a carpenter, prior to university. My interest of designing and developing sites to increase Clients' assets is very rewarding and brings pleasure to me and our Clients. I became Chartered in 2014 and continue to encourage progression of new skills inside and outside of the business.

Adam joined Dolman in 2014 and has been an integral part of the design team since. His experience spans from small scale residential extensions to large commercial developments, and he has a keen interest in sustainable design and the use of technology in the design process.
